Alexandre Boulerice

Alexandre Boulerice has been representing Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie since 2011 through every wave that has reshaped Quebec federal politics — the Orange Wave, the Liberal revival, the Bloc resurgence, and now the NDP's collapse to seven seats. He keeps getting re-elected because he does the constituent work and because his riding has a progressive community that values having an NDP voice in Parliament. With seven NDP seats, Boulerice and his colleagues are operating the party's federal presence with a fraction of the resources they had before. The contribution is real but structurally constrained. Alexandre Boulerice has represented Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie in Montreal as a New Democratic Party MP since 2011 — one of the NDP's longest-serving current members and a survivor of multiple electoral waves that have dramatically reshuffled Quebec's federal representation. He held his seat through the NDP's 2019 decline, the 2021 recovery, and the 2025 collapse to seven seats — a political durability in a Quebec riding that requires navigating the competing pulls of the Bloc Québécois, the Liberals, and the local progressive community that is more attached to the NDP brand than the party's Quebec-wide performance would suggest.
