Nathalie Roy serves as Speaker of the National Assembly of Quebec — a role she has occupied since 2022, making her one of the more prominent women in Quebec's political institutions. The Speaker's role in a parliamentary system is formally non-partisan: the Speaker presides over debates, enforces the rules of parliamentary procedure, and makes rulings on points of order and privilege that require impartiality toward all parties.
